Shimla, also known as ‘The Queen of the Hills‘ is the capital and largest city of Himachal Pradesh. The place is quite a popular hill station, where many people go to enjoy the mildly chilly weather and the snow-clad mountains. We all love traveling and we are always looking out for good restaurants to dine-in at and Shimla happens to be next on our list. Here is a list of restaurants in Shimla if you’re looking for some good food with a great view.

  1. Cafe under Tree, Jakhoo Road

The recently opened cafe is a unique addition to all other cafes in Shimla. Talking about the food, the place is a pure vegetarian restaurant and prepares its food with low oil content; perfect for health-conscious people. The CholeBhature and Crunchy Masala Dosa are super mouth-watering.

The view from the terrace of Wake and Bake is simply breathtaking. So, having delicious food with a good view is pure bliss. They have a variety of international cuisines and we’re going for the Freshly Ground Organic Coffee, Crepes, and waffles that are best served here.

  1. The Oberoi, Cecil, ChauraMaidan Road

Cecil is one of the best places to eat in Shimla. The menu includes international, pan-India and local Himachali dishes. The breakfast menu mainly includes healthy dishes for all the diet buffs out there. The Braised Pork Belly, Himalayan Kheru, Masala Chai Kulfi are their specialties and therefore, a must-try! The place is ideal for a romantic date. They also serve a wide range of Indian and foreign alcohol, as well as other beverages.

  1. Ashiana & Goofa, The Mall

The place offers you a great view of the mountains on one side and the town on the other. Chicken Anardarna, a Himachali dish is one of their specialties. The local Chinese food is also good; not your authentic Chinese but with Indian flavors and spices. Being on The Mall makes one of those places where you can sit and easily while away time. A couple of thirst-quenchers from their menu are also worth checking out. We found the service to be a little slow, though.

The 45 Central Perk is afine-dine restaurantand a cafe. Asian, Indian and Continental cuisines are available. You should definitely try the Cappuccino. The USP of this place is their hot mocktails sections – the Mulled Pom Citrus served hot with cloves and cinnamon is something you won’t get anywhere else. Another recommendation someone gave us was the Sesame Stir-Fried Noodles. To make your stomach happier and satisfied try out their GajarKaHalwa made with pure ghee.

  1. Cafe Sol, Mall Road

Cafe Sol is a multi-cuisine restaurant with a menu full of food from different parts of the world. The classic Ceasar Salad with Grilled Chicken and the most authentic Prawns in Shimla and lastly, for the seafood fans the Grilled Fish served with spicy finger chips. The food here is a delight to your taste buds.
